Good in the Beginning, Not so good at the End.
When I first had these installed, they seemed great. Dry and Rain traction was decent - I don't ever expect Pilot S traction on an oversized truck tire. I had some 35x12.5R20s installed on my lifted Silverado. Pros: - Comfortable Ride for an All-Terrain Tire. - Quiet road Noise at City & Highway speeds. - Nice looking sidewall and tread pattern. Cons: - Look up "Nitto Terra Grappler G2 Vibration" and go down the rabbit-hole. - After replacing Wheel Bearings, Upper & Lower Control Arm Assys, Driveshaft, Suspension and more - I got new tires, and the vibration at 65+ went away by 90%. (Note: This started at about 40-50% treadlife left. Some people get it right away I've read). - I made it about 38k Miles out of the 50k Warranty (round to 75%), before I was at 3/32ish of tread left. I was "Pro-rated" a 7% refund after I provided the installation mileage receipts, rotation receipts, etc.
Great tires very little road noise.
Great tires. Very little noise and love the way they look. They did balance out nicely.
Maybe I got a bad batch....
For the first 20k miles, these seemed alright. After that, I started getting a vibration at 65+ miles per hour. I read into more and more and more, replaced both Wheel Hub Assys, Both Upper & Lower Control Arm Assys, Drive Shaft Assy, Suspension, and Multiple rebalances / alignments - and after taking these off and getting a different brand tire - 80% of the vibration went away. A truck with 35x12.5R20 tires is never going to ride like a Cadillac at high speeds, but lord was this frustrating to deal with. Just google "Nitto Terra Grappler G2 Vibration" and you'll go down the rabbit hole of truck / jeep forums like I did. I also only made it about 38k miles with these. The warranty is 50k, and after providing installation mileage and rotation receipts, tire gauge pictures, etc. I was given back 7%. (while I was only about 75% of the way through). Overall I think Nitto is an OK company, but I won't be purchasing the brand again.
After 2 pairs of Nittos, I won't be going back.
After I blew through my Ridge Grapplers in 17k miles, I went through these Terra Grappler G2s in approximately 38k. Let's start with the reviews on these... I don't know if I got a bad run of tires, but after replacing Upper & Lower Control Arm assys on both sides, Wheel Hub Assys on both sides, rebalancing, fresh alignments, rotations every 5k or less miles, new suspension - And visiting the shop at least 10 times over the past 1-1/2 years.... I still had a vibration at 65+ speeds on the highway... Even driving a Chevy Silverado 1500 and knowing they can potentially have torque converter issues, thankfully I didn't spend 5k to replace that... it was these tires. After getting a new set of Falken Wildpeaks, I took my truck up to 80mphs and it rode like a cloud. Onto the "warranty" these tires offer... As I stated going through these tires in approximately 38k miles (by the way - if you think that "this guy is full of crap", I would be happy to send you the installation, rotation, mileage, and other receipts that I provided for the warrantyclaim :) ). Anyways - I made it through approximately 75% of the 50k Warranty. After providing ALL of the receipts, pictures, etc. Nitto prorated me at a 7% credit refund. Better than nothing? Sure. Does Nitto make decent tires? Yeah, I guess you could say that. Will I ever purchase a pair again after the vibration issues and such I endured? No sir. Purchase at your own risk.
Excellent tires
This is my second set of these beauties, Love them ! Cheers....
Great tires!!!
This is my second set and I absolutely love these tires. Great price too!!!
Nitto Tires are Great
Traction is a big deal on my farm truck that I drive daily. The Nitto Terra Grappler doesn't fool around with traction. I always feel confident about my connection with the earth. Noise on the road is also minimal and the ride is good as well, for a 12 year old farm truck. I expect they will provide good traction for about 2 years in my conditons.
Simply said my tires are amazing, they do the job!
Amazing tires, they get the job done with comfort and strength needed.
Very good tire for the price
Nitto G2 Tires
I have 2016 GMC Canyon All Terrain truck and these Nitto G2 tire ride great very smooth. I like the AT tread and they are not overly loud on the road.
Get technical:
The Nitto Terra Grappler G2 is an all-terrain tire that's designed for use on light trucks, Jeeps, and SUVs and offers drivers confident off-road performance, a quiet and refined ride on pavement, and is covered by an up to 65,000 mile limited manufacturer's tread life warranty.
Features & Benefits
- All-terrain tread
- Black sidewall
- 65,000 mile limited manufacturer's tread life warranty for Euro-metric sizes, and 50,000 mile warranty for LT-metric and flotation sizes
- Three Peak Mountain Snowflake certified for use in moderate to severe winter weather conditions (on select sizes)
- Variable pitch tread pattern helps keep road noise low for a quiet, comfortable ride
Nitto's Terra Grappler G2 is a dependable tire that balances performance for on- or off-road adventures, with an aggressive all-terrain tread pattern that's backed up with coupling joints that link outer tread blocks to the center blocks for improved tread rigidity. Full-depth sipes boost wet or wintry traction with hundreds of biting edges and continue to deliver grip even as the tire's tread depth wears down. The staggered shoulder lugs of the Terra Grappler G2 extend down onto the sidewall for enhanced lateral traction, and the tire's tread pitch is randomized and computer tuned to help keep road noise low. Like with all Grappler tires, the Terra Grappler features a plain sidewall on one side and "lizard skin" texture on the other, making it easy to customize your truck's looks.
